________

David R. Dow has defended over 100 death row inmates in the past 20 years. In this TED Talk, Dow tells us that through his work he has learned how similar the life stories of his clients are; beginning with dysfunctional family lives and continuing with a history in the juvenile justice system.

Dow argues for the need to intervene in the lives of children who are exposed to the life circumstances his clients have suffered to prevent homicides. As he states about intervention, the fact that we have a lot to learn does not mean we don´t know a lot already. One of his most controversial statements, perhaps, is the need to remove children from their dysfunctional families. I agree with this statement.

David R.
